It would be a pleasure to spend the afternoon with all who would like to = walk with me in the 23rd annual Gloucester Pride Stride this yea= r on April 25th. As many of you know, Pride Stride is a benefit = walk for Cape Ann non-profits. This year we are asking our supporters to co= me and walk for us and with us! Pride Stride is a fun, empowering opportuni= ty to get together with other team members and publicly support the Cape An= n Vernal Pond Team.

 

How it works

Non-profits rally their t= roops to walk in the 5 mile community event. Walkers get pledges for their = cause from friends, family, co-workers, etc. 90% goes directly to their des= ignated not-for-profit organization and 10% will go to help defray the cost= of the Pride Stride event.=C2=A0 This is a very successful ev= ent for some organizations.

 

The day of the walk

The 5 mile walk officially starts at 12:00 pm and will= =C2=A0start and finish=C2=A0at Stage Fort Park, while enjoying scenic views= of the Boulevard, Rogers Street, State Fish Pier, Main Street, Boulevard. = After you complete the walk, there will be entertainment and a lunch= of hamburgers, hot dogs, chowder, and pizza will be served to all walkers.=

 

Raising ple= dges

Walkers can go to, http://gloucesterprides= tride.com/ to download and print out the 2010 pledge sheet. Sign up as many= sponsors as you can. Ask friends, relatives and co-workers to support us. = Set yourself a goal of raising at least $100. Suggest that sponsors pledge = as much as they can per mile. Some may want to pledge $5, $10, or more per = mile to support your efforts.

 

We have a goal of getting 10 people out to walk with me,= hopefully I won=E2=80=99t prove to unpopular.=C2=A0
